I offer supervision to provisional psychologists, as well to individuals looking to become Certified/Registered Play Therapists in Canada with the Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy (CACPT), with Play Therapy International (PTI) and with the American Association for Play Therapy (APT). I am a Certified/Registered Play Therapy Supervisor with all of these associations.
I completed my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta in 2007, and have also completed additional training in Play Therapy with the Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy (CACPT), The Play Therapy Institute of Colorado (PTIC) and with the Canadian Association for Sandplay Therapy (CAST). I have also completed additional training in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), Theraplay, Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and am a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist.
I practice using a cutting edge model of therapy designed to re-pattern the nervous system and the disorganization in the lower brain centers, areas that are often un-addressed in many current therapy models. It is the first therapy approach to blend together neuro-science, brain development, affect attunement, physics, emotional congruence and nervous system regulation, which helps get to the heart of the healing process for clients.
I really enjoy working with students and have found different ways to incorporate play, art, and sandplay into the supervision process. I have found this that this has provided the supervisees with more insight into their cases as well as into themselves as therapists.
